Situated near the Brittany border in the Pays de Loire Region, the Louis Derbré Cultural Centre was founded in 1991 at Ernée, located in Mayenne department. This unique cultural centre brings together artistic creation, teaching of the arts and exhibitions of art.

LOCATED ON THE 7 HECTARES OF THE CULTURAL CENTRE:

Bronze Foundry

Where the artist transforms plaster or clay sculptures into a noble material—bronze. Since its creation, the bronze foundry has been hosting ever-increasing numbers of students in bronze casting, who come from all over France.

Fine Arts Training Centre

Here Louis Derbré’s and his students’ art is born. Under the guidance of the master artist, all types of materials can be employed including stone, plaster, resin, metals, polyester and concrete. Students also actively participate in Louis Derbré’s own creations. Always full of activity, this training centre is not only a place for teaching art, for developing artistic talent and for learning about art, but it is also a place for becoming acquainted with Louis Derbré’s work—be it in the open-air sculpture garden or in the permanent exhibition gallery.

The Agora

Every summer, concerts and shows bring this open-air theatre alive. The theatre can seat 3,000.
