When Louis Derbré sculpted the portrait of his friend Louis Werschürr, a student at the Beaux-Arts art school, Louis Werschürr commented, “The symmetry of a face is identical to the harmony of a landscape.” Louis Derbré received the Fénéon Prize for this portrait and also for a portrait of a young girl from his home region.
